"There is no law and order in the entire country... The elections were fought with religious hooliganism... The campaign against Tamil Nadu in the state of Odisha reeks of violence that divides the people," Kanimozhi said speaking to reporters in his Thoothukudi constituency. on Saturday.

Kanimozhi was responding to Union Minister L. Murugan's allegation that the law and order situation is bad in Tamil Nadu.

The DMK MP was present at the inauguration of the new Ultrasonography (USG Machine) service for pregnant mothers. The ceremony was held at the center that provides social assistance to pregnant and postpartum women at the Pudukkottai Primary Health Center in Tuticorin.

Talking about his rival party, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), not participating in the Vikravandi bypoll, Kanimozhi said, "Maybe they don't want to do it for fear of failure."
