Jaipur: Light to moderate rainfall was recorded in some parts of Rajasthan, while some areas received heavy rainfall, the Meteorological Center said on Tuesday.

Meteorological Center spokesperson Radheshyam Sharma said that Dungarana in Hanumangarh recorded 77 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours ending 8:30 am on Tuesday, which is the highest in the state.

During this period, 42 mm rainfall was received in Badi of Dholpur, 34 mm in Veja of Dungarpur, 30 mm in Ramgarh Shekhawtan of Sikar, 27 mm in Dhambola of Dungarpur and 29 mm in Churu. Many other places recorded rainfall between 1 and 17 mm.

According to the spokesperson, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Mount Abu recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 7 mm, followed by Churu at 5 mm and Anta in Baran at 1.5 mm.

On Tuesday, Sriganganagar was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius. Sharma said that the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.7 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, 41.1 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, 40 degrees Celsius in Phalodi, 39.6 degrees Celsius in Barmer and 38.2 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur.

Maximum temperatures elsewhere in the state were recorded between 36.5 degrees Celsius and 27.6 degrees Celsius.

Last night, the temperature at most places in the state was recorded between 31.2 degrees Celsius to 22 degrees Celsius.

Sharma said rainfall activities will continue over parts of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota and Udaipur divisions of East Rajasthan and heavy rains are likely at one or two places in Bharatpur division in the coming days.

He said that there is a possibility of rain in some parts of Bikaner division of Western Rajasthan in the next two-three days.

There is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Jodhpur division and border areas. The spokesperson said that the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in the remaining parts.
