Washington, India is committed to prioritizing gender parity, said former minister Smriti Irani, underscoring the need to fully implement gender equality policies across the Global South to enhance global competitiveness.

Addressing World Bank leaders, Irani spoke about the issues of gender parity in the Global South and the importance of engaging both political and business leadership.

Education, healthcare, child care and housing policies disproportionately affect women, especially in developing and growing economies like India, she said.
