The IMD also said that conditions are favorable for further advance of southwest monsoon towards some more parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh; the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar; and some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next 3-4 days.

The meteorological office stated that a mean sea level trough runs off the Maharashtra-Kerala coast and a cyclonic circulation extends over southern Gujarat at the middle and lower tropospheric levels.

These are most likely to result in & Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka during next 5 days, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu during June 24-26; over Gujarat region on 24th and 25th and isolated heavy rain over Saurashtra and Kutch on 25th and 26th June; Gujarat Region June 26-28; Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka on June 27 and 28; north interior Karnataka from June 25-28 and coastal Andhra Pradesh from June 25-27.

Widespread light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and gusty wind (40-50 kmph) most likely over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh; It dispersed to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next five days.

Isolated heavy rain is very likely in western Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha on June 24, 27 and 28; Madhya Pradesh from June 24 to 28 and Chhattisgarh from June 26 to 28.

According to the IMD, there is also a cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam at the lower tropospheric levels.

Strong southerly/southwesterly winds prevail in the lower tropospheric levels from the Bay of Bengal to eastern and northeastern India.

Under its influence, widespread rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 5 days.

A cyclonic circulation is spreading over southeastern Rajasthan which is likely to result in scattered or fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over Ganga, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha. for the next 5 days.

Isolated heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh from June 26 to 28; western Uttar Pradesh on June 28, eastern Rajasthan on June 24, 27 and 28 and Uttarakhand on June 27 and 28.

Additionally, heat waves are very likely to occur in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Bihar on June 24-25 and Rajasthan from June 25-27 and subside thereafter.
