Kolkata, The Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that due to the possibility of moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal, the weather will remain cool in the next few days and there is also a possibility of rain, which will provide relief from the prolonged heat in South Bengal.

The weather office said heat wave conditions are likely to continue for at least five days in the districts of South Bengal.

An IMD official said people are likely to get respite from the heat conditions prevailing in the region from May 5 with the possibility of rain in coastal districts due to the arrival of moisture from the Bay of Bengal.

He said the rains would gradually spread to several southern districts of the state and would continue for at least a few days.
