Mumbai: A Ghaziabad resident has been arrested for booking a cab in the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and sending it to Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in Bandra area here. Police gave this information on Friday.

The accused Rohit Tyagi, who was picked up from his hometown, intended to do it as mischief, an officer said.

On Wednesday, Tyagi reportedly booked a cab online to travel from Khan's residence Galax Apartment to Bandra police station. When the cab drive reached the address they realized it was a prank and lodged a complaint.

Taking the incident seriously, Bandra Police registered a case and traced Tyagi.

Bishnoi was in the news earlier this week when a motorcycle-riding man opened fire at Khan's residence last Sunday.

While the alleged shooter and his accomplice were arrested, police had said they were investigating the role of the Bishnoi gang after a Facebook post claiming responsibility for the attack was made in the name of the jailed gangster's younger brother Anmol Bishnoi. Which came to light after the incident.
