Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the upcoming Hindi film revolves around Krishna (Devgan) and Vasudha (Tabu), a couple who gets separated when Krishna is sent to jail for murder. They met each other after 20 years when he was released from jail.

Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar play the roles of younger Krishna and Vasudha respectively.

At the trailer launch event of "Aur Mein Kahan Dum Tha", Tabu thanked Pandey for "imagining this love story" with her and Devgan."When our society changes, our cinema changes, our entertainment changes. “The feeling of love and the depth of emotion vary with age.Now, there is room for everything in cinema. A film director's vision, actor's, distributor's and audience's preferences... all have to match for such films to work," the actor told reporters here.

Devgan, who has also worked with Tabu in films like 'Haqiqat', 'Takshak', 'Drishyam', 'Bhola', 'Golmaal Again' and 'De De Pyar De', made fun of her long filmography.

Devgan, who was recently seen in the period sports drama "Maidan", also advocated films that show the evolution of human emotions.

Asked if he had any doubts about doing a romantic story at a time when action films are the flavor of the season, Devgan said it was important as an actor to "keep doing something different"."I have been trying to do this since the beginning. I did 'Takshak', 'Raincoat', or 'Dil Kya Kare' when no one was doing it. I think it inspired me to move forward. What I learned from those films is helpful to me even today,” he said.

Pandey said that when he entered the industry he wanted to make a love story but it took him 16 years to realize his dream."...Unfortunately, no one wanted to produce it. "When Neeraj narrated the story, I'll be very honest, I told him, 'I love the story and it touches the heart. (But) I don't know what's going to happen commercially.'He (Neeraj) said, 'Don't worry, leave it to me' and I said, 'Okay'.

Billed as a musical romantic drama, "Auron Mein Kahaan Dum That" also stars Jimmy Shergill and Sayaji Shinde. The film's original soundtrack is composed by Oscar-winning composer MM Cream with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir.

The film is produced by Narendra Hirawat, Kumar Mangat Pathak (Panorama Studios), Sangeeta Ahir and Sheetal Bhatia.It will be released on 5th July.
