Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra State Cooperative Housing Societies Federation on Friday demanded that a single window scheme should be implemented to speed up permission for redevelopment of cooperative housing societies, which currently takes 2-3 months.

Addressing a press conference after a meeting here, federation president Suhas Patwardhan said that currently files move between three to four departments, causing tension to the stakeholders.

"There should be a single window system to allow redevelopment projects of residential cooperative societies. Earlier the state government had said that a single window system would be implemented, but nothing has moved forward. The plans have to be reviewed through the single window. system." And approval can be given in a few days. “It will take at least two to three months.”

There are about 1.25 lakh registered societies in Maharashtra. Parvardhan told reporters that about one lakh of these buildings have been constructed.
