At one point, even JPC president Jagdambika Pal engaged in a heated exchange of words with opposition MPs.

The meeting concluded with the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) presenting its views on the proposed amendments, although it opposed the bill.

The AIMPLB submitted a 200-page report in which it included the Board's points highlighting key points to oppose the Bill.

The AIMPLB particularly opposed the proposals on 'Waqf per user' and the rights to be given to DM on matters related to the Waqf Board.

At the meeting, an AIMPLB representative said: "We reject all amendments."

The AIMPLB also described the bill as "anti-Islam and anti-Muslim". Their views on the matter were presented during the meeting by Board Chairman Maulana Saifullah Rahmani, Qasim Rasool Ilyas and Advocate Samshad, among five others.

Among all, Shamshad spoke at length on the issue, highlighting the reasons behind AIMPLB's reasons for opposing the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.

Meanwhile, Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz expressed her support for the proposed amendments to the bill.

Describing the bill as "beneficial to 85 per cent Muslims", he also demanded to include Dalits and Adivasis from the Muslim community in its ambit.

However, there were frequent interruptions by opposition MPs while Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz was speaking during the CPM meeting in support of the bill.

This led to heated arguments between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs and opposition MPs.

Criticizing the stand of the opposition MPs, the BJP MPs expressed their anger and disappointment, accusing the opposition MPs of remaining silent if any Muslim organization criticizes the bill and of "creating a commotion" when the proposed amendments They are supported by some Muslim organization.

Patna-based Vice-Chancellor of Chanakya Law University and Muslim intellectual Professor Faizan Mustafa also presented his views on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill during the fifth round of the CPM meeting on Thursday. .

He termed as "wrong" the proposal to give authority to DMs in matters related to Waqf. Additionally, he also opposed other provisions proposed in the bill.

Mustafa urged the government to proceed with the bill "with everyone's approval."

During the meeting, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi wondered why Home Minister Amit Shah had been talking about the bill even when it had been referred to the JPC for their discussion.

Opposition MPs even claimed that "the JPC is being pressured" by the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.

All these opinions and contradictions caused a heated exchange of words during the meeting.

During the meeting, a BJP MP also raised the issue of documentation of Waqf properties, leading to another round of heated discussions in which even JPC president Jagdambika Pal was involved.
