Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) [India], The doors of Kedarnath Dham, one of the oldest and most sacred pilgrimage sites in the country, were thrown open for devotees on Friday. The doors were opened after some interval with rituals and chanting of mantras. Six months, including the peak winter phase, slogans of 'Har Har Mahadev' echoed through the crowd of devotees gathered for the ceremony, as the doors were opened for shlokas (hymns) before the formal inauguration. Therefore, the pilgrimage starts from Yamunotri, moves towards Gangotri, stops at Kedarnath, and finally ends at Badrinath.The journey can be completed by road or air (helicopter services are available).
