Rae Bareli (UP): Mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claim that the NDA's seats are "crossing 400" in this Lok Sabha election, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday said thankfully it is "600-cross". Not talking about. Par” because there are only 543 parliamentary seats.

Addressing a rally at Sarai Omar in Harchandpur assembly constituency here, Kharge also said that he has signed "all the promises made by our party" and they will be fulfilled if the India Bloc forms the government. "It's not like 'Modi's guarantee' which is never fulfilled."

He launched a scathing attack on the PM, alleging that his government is "cut off from the poor", and working only for the interest of a handful of industrialists.Kharge said, people will say goodbye to this government and the opposition alliance will come to power after the results are declared in the first week of June.

"Modi and BJP are talking about 'crossing 400'. Fortunately they are not talking about 'crossing 600' because there is a constitutional limit of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha," Kharge said.

The Congress president reiterated that if India Bloc comes to power, I will double the quantity of free ration given to the poor by the BJP government.

He was referring to the Modi government's plan to provide five kg ration to the poor every month."Congress brought the Food Security Act, you (PM Modi) did nothing. You are giving five kg free ration, if the Indian government is formed, we will give 10 kg ration to the poor."

Kharge attacked the PM for saying "bhago mat (don't flee)" to make fun of Rahu Gandhi contesting from Rae Bareli instead of Amethi, which he lost to BJP's Smriti Irani in 2019.

Kharge said, the truth is that Modi himself has fled Gujarat and has chosen Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to contest the elections.

While campaigning to seek votes for Rahul Gandhi, Kharge said that Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi initiated development in Rae Bareli and asked the Modi government to list a new work done by his government in Rae Bareli and Amethi. He said Modi had promised to double farmers' income and provide two crore jobs to unemployed youth and asked the crowd, "Have these been fulfilled?"

The Congress president said that after coming to power, the opposition coalition government will fill 30 lakh vacancies in government departments and public sector undertakings, of which half the seats will be for weaker sections.

He also highlighted the BJP's slogan "Modi hai to mumkin hai", saying, "I am sure the prices of petrol, diesel and fertilizers will go up."

Kharge reiterated his party's promises of increasing MNREGA remuneration to Rs 40 and waiving off loans of small farmers, as the UPA government had done by writing off Rs 72,000 crore of farmers' loans.

He also talked about giving Rs 8,500 per month i.e. Rs 1 lakh per year to elderly women from poor families. He said that some BJP leaders are talking about changing the Constitution. “It is because of this Constitution that Modi is sitting on the top post and which provides security to the poor.,
