Jammu: BJP president in Jammu and Kashmir condemned the killing of five Army soldiers when terrorists ambushed their vehicle in Kathua district and said those responsible for the attack will face swift retribution.

He attributed the increase in such "cowardly" attacks to the frustration of terrorists following the elimination of many of their leaders and members in Kashmir and Jammu.

Five army personnel, including a junior commissioned officer, were killed and several injured when heavily armed terrorists ambushed a patrolling party in the remote Machedi area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Monday, according to officials.

This was the fifth terror attack in the Jammu region in a month, drawing widespread condemnation and political leaders including three former Chief Ministers expressing serious concern over the increasing terror incidents, especially in the Jammu region, which has seen a resurgence of terrorism. Its abolition two decades ago.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina said, "Those responsible for this act will soon have to face consequences."

He said, "Pakistani terrorists attacked the army vehicle where our brave soldiers sacrificed their lives for the country. The entire nation mourns the supreme sacrifice of these soldiers."

He said, "They will have to pay a heavy price for their actions. Pakistani terrorists have already been eliminated and they will be eliminated in the coming days too. All their nefarious designs will be foiled."

He highlighted the efforts of security forces and police in eliminating several terrorists in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir. "The entire Kathua area will be freed from terrorists. Every terrorist will be dealt with," he said.
