At least nine people were killed and 42 others injured when terrorists ambushed a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori shrine in Reasi district on Sunday evening, June 9. The bus fell into a ditch after the attack.

Speaking to ANI, Singh said, “The bus used to run daily from Katra to Shiv Khori, booking was also done daily. But we never thought that this could happen with our car.We used to hear such things in Kashmir but this area was safe. We never thought that this could happen to us. As soon as the bus left in the morning, we got a call at 5 o'clock that there was firing on our vehicle...when we did something. "Investigation revealed that it was an attack by terrorists...Passengers told us that the terrorist boarded the bus and asked the driver to deboard the passengers."

"The driver thought the man was a terrorist. He refused to disembark the passengers, so he increased the speed of the bus. As soon as he increased the speed of the bus, the terrorist opened fire. The bus lost its balance but the driver kept driving the bus ."When the driver did not stop, he (the terrorist) shot him in the head and killed him... Then the conductor grabbed the steering, as soon as he did so, the terrorist also fired 3-4 bullets at the conductor. He killed both of them. The bus lost its balance and fell into the ditch.

The manager further said that if the driver had not shown wisdom, none of the passengers would have survived.

He said, "If the driver had not shown wisdom, none of the passengers would have survived. He would have even set the bus on fire. The driver did good and sacrificed himself for the 40 passengers.,

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police has said that terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba is believed to be behind this attack. JK Police has formed 11 teams to investigate the attack.

A team from the National Investigation Agency assessed the situation in Reasi on Monday and the NIA forensic team is working to collect evidence.
