The minister held the police responsible for the inaction in arresting the accused named in the FIR lodged by the deceased's mother Ramavati Devi.

Dipu Nishad was missing since June 14. His body was recovered on 15 June.

The situation deteriorated when the minister was expressing his displeasure and the mob, believed to be members of the Nishad Party, broke the furniture and motorcycles of the village head and his brothers named in the FIR.

Sub-District Magistrate Ratnesh Tiwari appealed to the Cabinet Minister for help in maintaining peace.

Meanwhile, angry over the attack on the village head's house, hundreds of villagers and supporters of the village head started raising slogans against the minister and came face to face.

The minister was forced to make a hasty exit and local police officials informed Deoria Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma, who also requested the minister to move out of the village.

The minister left the village and the situation was brought under control.

Later Sanjay Nishad said that he has reached the village to ensure justice to the victims.

On phone, Deoria SP had assured him of the arrest of the accused.

The minister said that some local officials are giving protection to the accused who were released on bail in another case.

He said that the matter will be taken up with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Meanwhile, security has been increased around the village in view of the proposed visit of the Samajwadi Party's fact-finding committee on Sunday.

Rudrapur area officer Anushman Srivastava said that after the complaint of Ramavati Devi, the police have registered a case against village head Chandrabhan Singh and his brothers and started investigation.
