With his 27th tour-level win of the season, Paul ensured he will overtake Taylor Fritz and become the American No. 1 for the first time in his career on Monday.

The 27-year-old player is set to reach number 12 in the ATP rankings.

Paul was impressive throughout the week, as he only lost one set. The American won his first tour-level title in Stockholm in 2021 before winning in Dallas this February. His Queen's Club crown is his first at the ATP 500 level.

The Americans came out firing on all cylinders. After a few breaks, Paul won the first set. Musetti had already doubled the number of games won in the match with an early 2-1 lead on serve in the second set. Paul broke again and served for the match to lead 5–4, but Musetti was not to let it go so easily and leveled at 5–5.

With serve out, it went to a tiebreak in the second set and it was Musetti's chance to equalise. Paul earned himself a match point which Musetti saved, then found himself on set point.

Paul dug deep and saved Musetti's set point. The American felt capable of fighting for another match point and this time, he was not going to waste another chance. A tremendous serve, on which Musetti did well to get the racket, but his return was out, leaving Paul to raise his hands in victory.

In addition, Paul also received honorary membership in the club.
