Three people died in Rohtas, two in Siwan and one each in Kaimur, West Champaran, Supaul, Munger and Banka districts.

Ram Pravesh Singh, a 55-year-old farmer from Bihar, died instantly after being struck by lightning while taking shelter under a blackberry tree in Nokha block of Rohtas on Wednesday evening.

A girl also lost her life due to lightning in Karaundi village of Natwar block.

A farmer died due to lightning in Sanjhauli Mathiya village of Karakat block.

A five-year-old girl died while picking mangoes during the storm in Odakpur village of Siwan district.

A laborer from Malda district of West Bengal was transplanting paddy in Nikhti Kala village of Siwan when he died due to lightning.

Another person died due to lightning in Mohania sub-division of Kaimur.

A farmer Suresh Yadav died and another person Suman Ram was seriously injured while plowing in Phulwariya village of Lauria police station area of ​​West Champaran district. The injured person was undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bettiah.

A farmer lost his life due to lightning in Dharmapatti village of Raghopur police station area of ​​Supaul district.

A woman died due to lightning in Lagma village of Asarganj police station area of ​​Munger.

A person named Janardan Mandal of Salempur Puranchak village of Amarpur police station of Banka district also died due to lightning.

Authorities are taking necessary action including post-mortem investigation and providing medical treatment to the injured. As per rules, the state government will give a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the family of the deceased.
