Hyderabad, Senior IPS officer Rajiv Ratan died following cardiac arrest at a private hospital here on Tuesday. Official sources gave this information.

Ratan, a 1991 batch IPS officer who was around 60 years of age, was serving as the Director General of Telangana Vigilance and Enforcement.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed grief over Ratan's sudden demise, an official release said.

I said, the Chief Minister has expressed deep condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

Ratan led the state government appointed vigilance and enforcement investigation on Medigadda Barrage (Kaleshwaram Project).

During his tenure, the IPS officer served as the Superintendent of Police of Karimnagar, Director General of State Fire Services, Inspector General of Hyderabad Zone and MD of Police Housing Corporation, the release said.

Revanth Reddy recalled the remarkable services rendered by the late IP officer to the police department in the state for a long time.

The Chief Minister said that Telangana society will remember the senior police officer who performed his duties efficiently and honestly.
