Jaishankar Bhoopalpally (Telangana) [India], Telangana Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday visited Medigadda, Annaram and Sundila barrages of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project to inspect along with other officials of the Irrigation Department.

He reviewed the necessary steps to be taken for the project. He also reviewed the progress of implementation of interim measures recommended by NDSA and ongoing monsoon flood protection works.

"I have come here to oversee the repairs, improvements and related works after the failure of the Kaleshwaram project. For about two and a half months we were bound by the model code of conduct. The revival of this project is a priority as the government has already spent Rs 94,000 on it. Crore rupees have been spent. That's why I have come to see the barrage and will try to speed up the work. We have reviewed everything today.

Praising the performance of the INDI alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he said, "The performance of the INDI alliance was brilliant. However, we missed a bit in forming the government. The people of the country have decided that the Narendra Modi government has failed."Very clear."

Notably, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has significantly improved its performance in Telangana in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections compared to the 2019 elections. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) received 7,647,424 votes, or 35.08% vote share. This is a significant increase compared to 2019 when the BJP got 3,626,173 votes, which was 19.65% of the vote share. The significant increase in voter support reflects the growing influence of the BJP in the political landscape of Telangana.According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, significantly less than 303 seats in 2019. On the other hand, Congress registered a strong improvement by winning 99 seats. While the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 292 seats, the India Bloc crossed the 230 mark, putting up a tough contest and defying all predictions.
