These culprits will be released from Cherlapally jail on Wednesday.

According to the government, the families of these convicts appealed to Chief Minister A. during the Praja Palan program for remission of their sentence. Petitions were handed over to Revanth Reddy.

Acting on these requests, he had directed officials to study the possibility of relaxation as per the guidelines of the Central and State Governments.

After going through the applications, senior officials prepared a list of eligible convicts and sent it to the high level committee for scrutiny. The committee placed the list of eligible convicts before the Cabinet, which approved it.

The Governor also gave his consent, paving the way for the sentencing of 213 convicts.

The Home Department on Tuesday released the list of convicts who got remission in their sentence. Apart from the 205 life convicts, there were eight who were sentenced to shorter terms. All these convicts were trained in different skills during their jail term. They were also given counseling so that they can once again integrate with the society through good conduct.
