Revanth Reddy visited Gadkari in the national capital and discussed various state-specific issues related to national highways.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, the Union Minister was requested to declare the southern part of RRR as a national highway and provide funds in the annual plan of the National Highways Authority of India this year. Revanth Reddy also underlined the need to immediately take up widening of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway (NH 65) to six lanes and expressed concern over the rise in accidents and loss of lives due to rapid growth in vehicular traffic on the highway. .

More than 60,000 vehicles circulate on this highway every day.

The Chief Minister mentioned that though the Hyderabad-Vijayawada widening was supposed to be completed by April 2024, the contracting agency did not take up the six-lane project on the pretext that vehicle traffic reduced after the bifurcation and agency was not earning adequate income.

He appealed to resolve the dispute between NHAI and the contracting company and take up the work immediately.

Revanth Reddy also appealed to Gadkari to declare the Choutuppal to Amangal-Shadnagar-Sangareddy highway (181.87 km) as National Highway.

The Union Minister was informed that Sangareddy road to Narsapur-Toopran-Gajwel-Jagdevpur-Bhongir-Choutuppal stretch of 158.645 km has already been declared National Highway and half of the land acquisition cost will be borne by the state government .

The CM also informed Gadkari that tenders for the sanctioned National Highway from Hyderabad (ORR Gourelli Junction) to Valigonda-Thorrur-Nellikuduru-Mahabubabad-Kothagudem have been invited for a single package over a stretch of 69 km and the work has begun. He asked the Union Minister to immediately start work on the remaining three stretches (165 kilometres) of this national highway.

He also asked that the Kalwakurthi to Kolhapur-Somasila-Karivena-Nandyal road (NH-167K) be converted into a National Highway and tenders be invited to start work on a 142 km stretch.

The CM said that tenders have been invited for the work of the remaining 32 kilometers and the construction of the iconic bridge and requested to start the work immediately. The distance between Hyderabad and Tirupati will be reduced by 70 km once the proposed national highway is completed.

The union minister has been asked to upgrade the two-lane highway between Hyderabad and Kalwakurthy (NH 765K) to four lanes. The CM said the land acquisition was completed after declaring the four-lane Hyderabad-Manneguda National Highway (NH-163) connecting Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Tender was called but work did not begin due to a pending case before the National Green Tribunal.

The NHAI has agreed to relocate the banyan trees along the route as per norms prescribed by the Union Environment Ministry. The CM stated that the alignment should not be changed at this stage and requested the Union Minister to issue appropriate directions to the concerned departments and start work immediately.
