He said that at a time when intolerance and animosity are increasing in the society, there is a need to follow the teachings of Buddha.

He was speaking at an event at Maha Buddha Vihar here in Secunderabad on the occasion of Buddha Purnima celebrations.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the increasing conflict and fanaticism in the society and underlined the need to follow the principles of Buddha.

He said, "As an individual and on behalf of the government, I will help spread the message of the Buddha to everyone in society."

The Chief Minister said that he was very happy with the visit to Buddha Vihar as it has a spiritual touch.

He said that at the age of 29, Buddha had given up power and kingdom and started preaching peace.

The Chief Minister said that the doctrine of Buddha has survived even in the last 2500 years.

He said that he was deeply inspired by Buddha's advice to treat every task as a meditation.

"It's inspired me a lot," he said.

He assured that the government will sanction special funds from the Spacia Development Fund for the construction of the spiritual centre.

He said, “This government is yours. It will provide all kinds of help and support.'' He promised that Buddhist monks will get due respect in Telangana.
