Balrampur (Chhattisgarh): A boy and a girl, both teenagers, have been found hanging from a tree in a village in Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district, police said on Monday.



He said that prima facie, circumstantial evidence suggests that both of them committed suicide by hanging.



An official here said that on Sunday evening, a shepherd saw him hanging from a tree on the outskirts of Dhandhapur village in Rajpur area and informed the villagers, who alerted the police.



He told that the boy was 17 years old and the girl was 15 years old and a class 10 student.



According to preliminary information, the boy, a resident of Baghima village of the district, was staying at his relative's place in Dhandhapur. The officer told that he was in love with a girl from the same village.

“It appears to be a case of suicide and the exact reason is not yet known,” the officer said.

He said no suicide note has been found so far, the bodies have been sent for postmortem and the incident is being investigated.
