BJP official Advocate Vivekanand Gupta, in his complaint, has demanded immediate arrest of Awhad, saying that this is an offense under Section 3 (T) (V) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
“Awhad committed the disgusting and appalling act of tearing the poster of D Ambedkar, who is a respected figure in the country. The said act was live on some electronic channels and has hurt the sentiments of a large number of people and especially the Scheduled Caste people.
“No one can ignore Dr. Ambedkar for his immense contribution to Indian society. Gupta said in his complaint, "People have been deeply hurt mentally and emotionally by tearing and throwing away D Ambedkar's photograph."
They have demanded that an FIR be registered against Awhad and action be taken as per the procedure established by law.
