Despite the cloudy sky, thousands of thrilled Mumbaikars jumped with joy as soon as the Vistara plane carrying the team landed here.

The ceremony began with a guard of honor at the airport and Follow Me cars escorting the team aircraft to the airport terminal stand.

There, they were given a special 'water salute', after which the team disembarked, passed through an aerobridge draped with the Indian tricolor and were welcomed by showering flowers on all the team members in the arrival corridor.

A red carpet was rolled out for the men in blue at the airport, followed by the cutting of a celebratory cake at the terminal decorated in the tricolor colours.

The team members rode in beautifully decorated buggies, with the sound of traditional Maharashtrian drums-tasha, tuatari and lezim outside, making the arrival truly grand and a scene of national pride and joy.

The top management of CSMIA greeted the team members and escorted them out with loud cheers, where more people were waiting to give them a grand welcome and hearty welcome.

Amid tight security and traffic regulations, Team India members are scheduled to travel to Nariman Point for a one-kilometre-long victory parade to the Wankhede Stadium, which will witness huge crowds at both the venues.
