Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy allegedly allotted two acres of irrigated land in survey number 202/A1 at Tadepalli in capital Amaravathi area to his party office, Telugu Party said Desam (TDP).

The ruling party claimed that Jagan had prepared a plan to occupy the neighboring 15 acres by constructing the party office on these two acres. It has now been clarified that the Irrigation Department has not given permission to hand over these two acres to the YSR Congress party, the TDP said.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), Mangalagiri, Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) or even Revenue officials did not hand over the land belonging to the Irrigation department to the then ruling party, the ruling party said.

The TDP further said that what is more surprising is that the YSRCP did not even seek approval of the plan to construct the party office and started construction.

On learning about all these matters, the general secretary of TDP's Guntur district unit lodged a complaint with the CRDA commissioners and MTMC officials regarding the illegal occupation of this two-acre land and asked for necessary action to be taken. against the squatters, the TDP said.

After this, demolition of these illegal constructions of the YSRCP leaders was started under the supervision of the MTMC officials, he said and added that the letter was sent to the YSRCP leaders by the Irrigation department.

Meanwhile, the YSR Congress party has received a notice from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) over the "illegal construction" of another party office in Vizag.

In their letter to the YSR Congress, GVMC Corporation officials opposed the construction of two acres of land at Yendada in Visakhapatnam district in survey number 175/4 without permission.

"You have applied for permission to Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) instead of GVMC as the area falls within its limits," the letter said.

The Town Planning Officer of Zone 2 has notified the YSRCP office that if a proper explanation is not given in this matter within a week, further action will be taken.

"Therefore, you or your authorized agent are hereby ordered to file a written cause. You are further ordered to stop work and submit a response within seven days from the date of receipt of this notice, otherwise further action will be taken as per due procedure," the notice further said.

This has led to speculation that the Visakhapatnam YCP office could also be demolished for being built "without any permission".

This comes after the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority demolished an under-construction headquarters building of the YSR Congress Party in the early hours of Saturday.
