New Delhi, TDP MP Dr Chandra Shekhar Pemmasani has become the richest minister to join the Council of Ministers in the 18th Lok Sabha with assets worth Rs 5700 crore.

Pemmasani, who took oath as minister of state on Sunday, was also the richest candidate to contest the Lok Sabha elections. He declared the highest assets of Rs 5705 crore among all 8390 candidates.

Jyotiraditya M. Scindia has the highest assets among cabinet rank ministers at Rs 484 crore. He has the sixth highest assets among the elected Lok Sabha MPs.

Pemmasani and Scindia were the only two among the top 10 richest winners in the Lok Sabha elections to take oath as ministers.
