Visakhapatnam, The ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday accused YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of spending Rs 500 crore of public money on building a luxurious mansion for his use.

However, the YSRCP claimed that the building belonged to the government and it was "tyrannical" to treat it as Reddy's "personal" property.

The TDP was referring to the mansion built atop the sea-facing Rushikonda hill in the port city of Visakhapatnam, which reportedly had extremely expensive amenities.

“This is a grand palace built by Jagan Reddy for Rs 500 crore…he spent government money recklessly. How many more atrocities will be revealed,” the TDP said in a post on Twitter on Sunday, sharing purported photos from inside the building.TDP's Bhimili MLA G Srinivasa Rao recently visited the mansion with a group of people and journalists.

“Jagan Reddy built this beach-view palace using royal materials fit for a head of state,” the TDP alleged.

The party claimed that the hilltop house has 200 chandeliers, each worth up to Rs 15 lakh, while the interior design alone reportedly cost Rs 33 crore.

Advanced sound system, huge home theater screen, 12 bedrooms, imported plants for the garden, multicolored lights are some of the features of this mansion, claimed.

Meanwhile, YSRCP leader and former Industries Minister G Amarnath alleged that the TDP was projecting as if the mansion belonged to Reddy."They (TDP) are in power and instead of considering how to use those (mansions) for people like the President, Governor or other important persons, they are projecting them as Jagan's house," Amarnath said. Is not right."

He insisted that the buildings belonged to the government and not to Reddy or the YSRCP. Amarnath said it was "atrocious" to present them as Reddy's own properties.

Before opting out of the 2024 elections, Reddy had mentioned several times in the past that he would move to Vizag and work from there, but failed to do so.
