Erode (Tamil Nadu), May 1 ( ) Two people died due to drowning in Bhavani river, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, on Tuesday a group of more than fifty people had gone to the Bhavani river in Karuvalavadipudur area near Athani village near Enthiyur to collect water in connection with a temple festival. After collecting water from the river, they found that two men, Srinivasan (45) and Harishraj (13), from Shankarpalayam, were missing.
Later the bodies of both the men were found floating in the river at some distance. They were sent to Anthiyur Government Hospital where doctors said that both of them died due to drowning.
Appakudal police have registered a case of drowning and are investigating the matter.
