DPH instructed district medical officers that due to cyclonic circulation the southwest monsoon will bring moderate to heavy rains over various parts of Tamil Nadu.

In the circular, the concerned officers were also instructed to provide adequate number of health officers round the clock in view of the forecast of the Meteorological Department.

Rapid Medical Response Team (RMRT) should also be made available in vulnerable areas, consisting of doctors, staff nurses, village health nurses and health inspectors.

The state health department has also directed district medical officers to stock essential medicines in adequate quantities for any emergency.

The department urged officials to provide on-the-spot medical care for minor ailments like fever, minor injuries and skin diseases.

The circular also called upon district medical officers to provide adequate fuel to the ambulance fleet for any emergency.
