Erode (Tamil Nadu), Forest officials here on Friday said they have trapped a leopard which had killed several farm animals a month ago.

According to forest officials of the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR), a few months ago the leopard entered the cattle shed of Bagyalakshmi in the Malkuth Thotti area, located within the Thalavady forest range under STR, and killed six goats, 20 poultry birds, two cattle and two animals. One cow's calf and five dogs.

Based on the complaint given by Bhagyalakshmi, forest officials had placed a cage near her plot a few days ago.

The villagers heard the sound of a leopard coming and found it inside the cage. They later informed the forest personnel who visited the spot and later took the animal for release in the interior of the forest.
