India remained unbeaten in the group stage with wins against Ireland, Pakistan and the United States. Their final group-stage match against Canada was abandoned due to rain, leaving them on top of Group A with an unblemished record.

The Indian team had reached Barbados just a few days before the opening match of the Super Eights to focus on its preparations and conditioning.

In a video released by BCCI, Rohit highlighted the team's eagerness to excel. “There is a real eagerness among the group to go out and do something special.This clearly shows that everyone wants to make a difference and we take our skills sessions very seriously. There is something to be gained from every skills session you do.”

Acknowledging the challenges of the upcoming schedule, the Indian captain noted the team's preparedness to deal with the demands of the Super 8 stage. “Once we play the first game, we will play the next two games in 3-4 days. It's going to be a little hectic but we are used to all this.We travel and play a lot so that won't be an excuse."

Speaking on the importance of focusing on their skills and strategies, especially given their familiarity with the local conditions, Rohit said, "We will focus on our skills and what we need to do as a team. "We've played a lot of games here." Everyone understands what they need to do, everyone is curious and excited too.

India's Super Eight campaign begins on June 20 with a match against Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.This will be followed by a match against Bangladesh in Antigua two days later and they will conclude the Super 8 stage with a match against Australia. Saint Lucia on 24 June.
