Talking about their opponents, Johnson acknowledged the experience of the Pakistani players but also said that it is a level playing field for both sides due to the uncertain nature of the pitch.

“I think they (Pakistani players) are very skilled players. Most of these people have played not only international cricket but also league cricket around the world, so they have the skills. But if you are looking for an opportunity, you have to enjoy these moments. So, I believe the wicket is playing some tricks, it levels the playing field for us, and we want to use that to our advantage," the ICC quoted Johnson as saying in the pre-match conference. Said.

The right-handed batsman lauded the team's win against Ireland and expressed hope that it would bring huge investment into the sport in his country.

“This is a historic victory. This is our first T20 win against a Test playing nation and it shows that Canada has a lot to offer the cricket world. I'm sure this will bring a lot of investment into Canadian cricket, showing that we are here to compete. We have not come here just to be a part of the tournament.

"I think we've just got to take it forward and keep moving forward."
