Bridgetown [Barbados], The Men in Blue are planning to counter Afghanistan's fiery batting lineup with a spin-heavy attack, potentially fielding four spinners in the T20 World Cup 2024.

India have named four spinners in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad, which includes Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal.

The Men in Blue have to play their first Super Eight match against Afghanistan on June 20.

In Tuesday's practice session, all four spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal practiced and all four also helped by bowling in the nets against Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav.

However, rain in Barbados interrupted the practice session for a few minutes.

Earlier in the day, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had shared a video on its social media handle in which Rohit Sharma had said that his players are keen to do something special in the tournament.

“There is a real eagerness among the group to go out and do something special. This clearly shows that everyone wants to make a difference and we take our skills sessions very seriously. There is something to be gained from every skill session you do. “Once we play the first game, we are going to play the next two games in 3-4 days, it will be a little hectic but we are used to all this, we travel and play a lot so it will not be an excuse,” Rohit said in a video posted by BCCI.

India will aim to perform well against Afghanistan (June 20), Bangladesh (June 22) and Australia (June 24) and register big wins to qualify for the semi-finals and India's first appearance in an ICC trophy since the 2013 Champions Trophy.
