New Delhi: The suspension order on mining operations at Vedanta's iron ore scheme in Karnataka's Chitradurga has been cancelled, the company said on Tuesday.

Vedanta Ltd in April informed BSE about temporary suspension of mining operations at the iron ore mine due to non-compliance with the approved Minin Plan.

"The Office of the Regional Mines Controller vide order dated May 21, 2024 has canceled the previous order of suspension of mining operations under Rule 11(2) of the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 2017 in respect of A. Narayana Iron Ore. Mine,” the company said in a filing to BSE.

The suspension of mining operations was ordered by the office of the Regional Mines Controller in Bengaluru.

"In response to the cited violations, we sought permission to conduct rectification work, and upon subsequent examination of the information presented and inspection of the rectification work conducted, the authority expressed satisfaction over the measures implemented," the filing said.

As a result, the suspension order on mining operations was rescinded, Filin said.

The company said the suspension did not cause any significant adverse effects.
