New Delhi [India], Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday apologized to the Supreme Court for publishing misleading advertisements and again commenting against allopathic medicines and assured that he will "be conscious about it in future" by Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd. Patanjali's co-founder, Ramdev, apologized unconditionally "for the mistakes" and said that "what we did at that time was not right. We will be conscious about it in the future." Patanjali's managing director Acharya Balkrishna also appealed to the court. Apologized and said that his conduct was not intentional. Senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Patanjali, told the apex court that he was ready to tender a public apology to show the offence. A bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah personally interacted with Ramdev and Balakrishna, who were present in person in the courtroom.The bench recorded an affidavit of Patanjali and its representatives saying that they propose to voluntarily take certain steps to protect themselves and show their good intentions. The top court adjourned the case till April 23. The top court said that the two are still not out of the case and will think about accepting their apology. “This is irresponsible behavior. Your past history is damaging.We will consider whether your apology should be accepted. Apologize or not," Justice Kohli said, adding that the bench told Ramdev that he was "not so innocent" and his "irresponsible behaviour" Criticized him, the apex court said, “We are not saying that we will forgive you, we will not think that you are innocent. Were completely unaware that at this point, we are not saying they are out of the case.It was hearing a contempt case against Patanjali Ayurveda, Ramdev and Balakrishna in relation to misleading advertisements of their products. The petition was filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) against the alleged defamation campaign against Covid-19 by Patanjali and its founders. Earlier, the top court asked him to 'meet' with the guilty licensing authorities who again failed to take action against Patanjali for publishing misleading advertisements. The apex court had also reprimanded the Uttarakhand government and directed Patanjali not to publish false advertisements in future and later issued contempt notices to the company, Ramdev and Balkrishna.
