New Delhi [India], The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed infrastructure company Larsen & Toubro's special leave petition (SLP) challenging the tender process for the prestigious Sharavati Pumped Storage Project. “We are not inclined to entertain the special leave petition under Article 13 of the Constitution of India,” the apex court said. "The special leave petition is accordingly dismissed," a bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said. And the petition was rejected. Company L&T Larsen & Toubro challenged the order of a division bench of Karnataka High Court Chief Justice NV Anjaria and Justice Krishna S Dixit in the Supreme Court, which rejected its appeal. The tender for the Sharavathi Pumped Storage Project, which is currently operated by KPCL, has been won by Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd Group, which has quoted the lower price. Sharavathi River is an important source of hydroelectric energy in the state of Karnataka.
