A bench headed by Justice Abhay S Oka declined to issue notice to the central investigating agencies, saying several petitions, including those seeking cancellation of the exams, are already coming up for hearing on July 8.

The application filed in the pending petition said that the offense is not limited to the IPC alone and the accused should be brought under the stringent provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

Meanwhile, the Center on Saturday ordered a CBI probe into allegations of paper leak and other irregularities in the conduct of the NEET-UG 2024 exam held in offline OMR mode on May 5 this year. NEET-UG, short for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate), is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical programmes.
