Raipur Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday asserted that the party organization occupies a paramount place in the BJP and a strong organization ensures that its government remains stable and functions smoothly.

Speaking at the final session of the state BJP executive meeting here at the Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Sai said that from the way his government has been fighting the Naxalites, it seems that the menace will be “removed from the state in the next three years".

“The government will exist only if the (party) organization exists. If the organization remains strong, we can keep the government stable. Organization is paramount in BJP. If you (the workers) stay strong, we will also work hard,” he stated.

Sai highlighted the achievements of his government on the anti-Naxal front and said that never in history has there been such a strong fight against the Maoists in Chhattisgarh.

In the last six months, 142 Naxalites have been eliminated and more than 1,000 have been arrested or handed over. During this period, 32 security camps have been established and 29 more will be established in the coming days, he said.

Under the new 'Niyad Nellanar' (your good village) programme, the State has been making efforts to ensure that benefits of 32 welfare schemes reach villages within a five kilometer radius of these security camps only through those programs, he said.

“Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured that Naxalism would be eliminated from Chhattisgarh in the next three years and I believe that the way we have been fighting the menace, we will manage to fulfill the resolution of the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and our country. minister under his leadership,” he said.

Sai praised BJP workers for their role in the party's excellent performance in the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Six months before last year's assembly elections, many party leaders and workers were not confident that the BJP would form the government in Chhattisgarh by defeating the Congress, he said.

However, when top leaders started visiting the state, the morale of party workers increased, he said. “On July 7 (last year), Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Raipur and raised the slogan 'aur nahi sahibo badal ke rahibo' (we will not tolerate any more, we will usher in a change). After that, the atmosphere completely changed,” he said.

Sai said BJP workers visited the houses of each and every voter and apprised them about the achievements of the Modi government and the failures of the previous Congress government.

After being elected to power in the assembly elections, the task was to win the trust of the people and that is why the party started fulfilling the election promises made under the 'Modi ki Guarantee', Sai said.

“We took oath on December 13 and the next day the promise of sanctioning 18 lakh houses under the PM's housing scheme was fulfilled in the first cabinet meeting. Farmers received the outstanding bonus for two years and higher yields from rice. Many other promises were also fulfilled. We will continue to fulfill other assurances such as financial assistance to the landless and cooking gas cylinders worth Rs 500,” he said.

The CM asserted that the state government has zero tolerance towards corruption.

He appealed to BJP workers to prepare for the civic body and panchayat elections (scheduled for later this year and early next year, respectively) in the state.

The BJP won 54 seats in the 90-member state assembly in the last assembly elections, while the Congress managed to win 35 seats and the Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) one seat. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 10 of the state's 11 parliamentary seats, leaving one for the Congress.

Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and senior party leaders also attended the executive meeting.
