A vehicle used in the crime was recovered at the behest of the accused.Tripathi further told the police that after stealing the Toyota Fortuner, it was taken to the farmhouse of Shahid's son-in-law Farooq in Faridabad. On thorough interrogation, the accused revealed that he along with Shahid had sold the stolen car to a habitual receiver of stolen cars named Salim at Lakhimpur Kheri, who further sold the stolen luxury cars to Moradabad, Sitapur, Hathras Mainpuri (all Sells to receiver in UP). , and Northeastern states.

During interrogation, Salim reveals that he had sold the stolen car to another habitual receiver named Raees.Based on this information, Raees was arrested from Sitapur (UP) and he revealed that he had sold it to Furkan.
