Srinagar: The 'Sacrificial Pillar' here will be thrown open to the public on Thursday and a function has been organized to mark the Independence Day, officials said.
He told that the foundation stone of the Martyr Memorial was laid by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on June 23 last year.
Officials said Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will visit the Sacrifice Pillar and pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
He said although some work is yet to be completed, the memorial has been made ready for the August 15 ceremony.
