New Delhi [India], Passengers traveling from Delhi to Goa on a SpiceJet flight had to face a harrowing experience at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Saturday when the flight was delayed by several hours.

The airline said Delhi-Goa flight SG-211 was delayed due to operational reasons as the aircraft operating the flight had to be grounded due to a technical problem.

Passengers complained that SpiceJet flight SG-211, which was initially scheduled to depart from Delhi at 9.35 am, faced multiple rescheduling. The departure time was first changed to 10.35 am, then to 11 am and finally, the flight did not take off even at 11 am.

When passengers raised concerns with the airline staff, they were told that the flight would now depart at 4 pm.

One of the passengers traveling with family members, including senior citizens and children, expressed disappointment, alleging that the airline did not make any arrangements and asked them to wait at the airport.

"We had hotel bookings and other plans in Goa, but it all got ruined because of SpiceJet. Last-minute flight tickets in other airlines are very high and it is not possible to buy tickets for eight people," the passenger lamented. " ,

Passengers said that the airline staff told them that the flight arriving from Jammu at 3:35 pm would depart for Goa at 4 pm. However, no refreshments were provided to the waiting passengers.

The airline said the Delhi to Goa flight was delayed due to operational reasons as the aircraft operating the flight had to be grounded due to a technical problem.

"An alternate aircraft is being arranged to operate the flight. Refreshments are being provided to the passengers. The inconvenience caused to the passengers is deeply regretted," the airline said in a statement.
