Mumbai: No-frills carrier SpiceJet on Friday announced the launch of a customized sign language program for its cabin crew to help hearing-impaired passengers.

The airline said that this training will enable the airline crew to communicate with passengers with hearing loss during travel.

It said cabin crew trained in sign language have started flying select flights from Friday.

It is noteworthy that May 31 is celebrated globally as International Cabin Crew Day.

The airline said SpiceJet instructors and cabin crew have received basic sign language training with the help of Noida Deaf Society.
