Gurugram: A man was seriously injured when a speeding car hit his scooter and dragged him for about 50 meters on Basai Road in the early hours of Monday, police said.

Police are searching for the car driver who fled from the spot after the accident. He told that the car neither stopped nor slowed down after hitting the scooter.

He told that the incident which took place around 4 am on Monday morning was captured in the CCTV camera.

Police said that Pankaj Juneja, resident of Devi Lal Colony, is a vegetable seller and he is undergoing treatment in the Civil Hospital of Gurugram.

He was going to Khandsa vegetable market on his scooter when this accident happened.

After getting information about the incident, the police team reached the spot and took possession of the damaged scooter. Based on Juneja's complaint, an FIR was registered at Sector 9A police station on Monday, police said.

A senior police officer said they have recorded the statement of the victim. Efforts are being made to identify the car and arrest the accused on the basis of CCTV footage.
