Shimla Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil on Thursday directed health department officials to expedite the process of procurement of medical machinery and equipment in health institutions across the state to ensure that people get care facilities quality medical at your doors.

He said that to expedite the purchase of machinery and equipment, the technical specifications related to the purchase should be kept in analogy with the AIIMS and the IGP.

This would ensure quality in procurement and save time and money during the procurement process, he said in a statement issued here.

The minister, who chaired a meeting of the High Powered Special Procurement Committee here, said the government is dedicated to providing timely and high-quality healthcare for the benefit of the people and assured that the government would provide state-of-the-art medical equipment to improve the situation. response and medical services.

The tender has been approved for the procurement of a baby care kit for mothers of newborns, each of which will cost approximately Rs 1,500.

Around one lakh institutional deliveries were expected in a year and the state government has made a budgetary provision of Rs 10 crore for the kits.

The kit would include 20 items, including eight new items such as a digital thermometer, a nail clipper, a hat, a soft-bristled brush, a bib, a wipe for the baby and sanitary pads for the mother. Remaining items include baby one-piece slip-on set, baby vest (2 pieces), baby mittens and booties, baby massage oil, baby towel, baby cloth diapers, hand sanitizer, mosquito net , mink blanket, rattle and muslin. /flannel square (2 pieces), toothbrush, toothpaste, bath soap and Vaseline for mother.

Later, the minister also chaired the third meeting of the board of directors of Himachal Pradesh Medical Services Corporation.

He gave his nod to the various demands and requirements of the corporation, including approval to start the process of procurement of machinery for various institutions, testing of vehicles and furniture for hospitals.
