New Delhi, Delhi Congress chief Devendra Yadav on Monday said that his party's Lok Sabha election manifesto has laid special emphasis on the welfare and security of farmers and their produce.

Addressing the "Delhi Dehat Mahapanchayat" at Bawana village here, he said the five 'justices' and 25 guarantees in the Congress manifesto include justice for farmers and improvement in the lives of people in rural areas of Delhi.

Yadav said that these will be implemented when the Congress and India factions come to power at the Centre.

According to a party statement, sarpanches of all rural areas were present at the mahapanchayat. "The general consensus in the Mahapanchayat was that farmers wanted change and had resolved to elect Congress and INDI block candidates in the Lok Sabha elections," it said.
