Surat, Gujarat: A six-storey residential building collapsed in Pal area of Surat city on Saturday afternoon and at least four to five people are feared trapped under the debris. The officers provided this information.
Surat District Collector Saurabh Pardhi said that a woman has been pulled out alive from the debris, but search and rescue operations are still going on.
"We learned that four to five flats in the building were occupied. One woman has been rescued. Four to five people are still feared trapped below. Search and rescue operations are underway with the help of NDRF and SDRF. We are hopeful that the operation will be successful and will be over in a few hours,” he told reporters.
