Mithilesh, Masa, Bheema and Sukki were part of violent incidents and ambush attacks on security forces in the border areas of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Mithilesh and Masa were also involved in three murders, while Ramey and Son played a role in recruiting youth into Maoist ranks.

According to the police, the surrender of these Maoists will weaken the village and pocket level committees, enable the upcoming elections to be conducted peacefully, and affect the Maoist cadres active in Kistaram, Konta and Andhra Odisha border (AOB formations).

"With the implementation of developmental activities and government schemes, there is scope for opening up of key areas in Maoist affected areas," the release said.

The DIG and SP appealed to all underground Maoist cadres to surrender to receive rehabilitation benefits, and highlighted that Maoist ideology has no relevance in the present times.
