Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team probing the alleged sexual harassment of women by Hassan JDS MP Prajwal Revanna has released a helpline number for the victims to contact him.
SIT chief and Additional Director General of Police BK Singh said in the statement that victims can call 6360938947.
Singh said the victims need not go to the SIT office as the team will contact them personally to provide them relief.
The SIT warned the public at large not to share videos of Revanna allegedly sexually assaulting and molesting women on social media or Persona messenger applications.
"It is easy to trace people sharing these videos on messenger services, action will be taken against such persons," Singh said.
He also said that sharing such videos would harm the reputation and honor of the victims.
Prajwal is seeking re-election from Hassan as a candidate of the JD(S)-BJP alliance. Voting was held in this constituency on 26 April. JD(S) had joined the BJP-led NDA in September last year.
Prajwal reportedly left the country on April 27, a day after voting and a Blue Corner Notice has been issued against him.
