Bhopal: Olympian Manu Bhaker showed complete dominance in the 10m Air Pistol Olympic Selection Trials (OST) here on Friday and scored a brilliant score to overcome the challenge of Asian Games medalist Isha Singh.

Bhakar, trained by renowned pistol shooter Jaspal Rana, scored a super 241.0 in the third OST to fend off the challenge of Isha (240.2) and Rith Sangwan (220.3) at the MP State Shooting Academy range.

Surabhi Rao (199.3) and Palka (179.1) finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Manu's performance is even more commendable as she came into the 10m AI Pistol Trials on the back of her stellar performance in the 25m Sports Pistol Trials.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) is conducting a series of four trials in pistol and rifle to select the team for the Paris Olympics.The top three scores in the trials along with Paris Olympics quota points will count towards the Indian team selection for the Summer Games.

However, Naveen set the range on fire in the men's 10m Air Pistol OST T final as he shot 246.8, 0.3 points more than the existing world record, and emerged victorious.

Sarabjot Singh (242.4) finished second, while Arjun Singh Cheema (218.8), Varun Tomar (197.3) and Ravinder Singh (176.9) finished third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Ramita Jindal won the women's 10 air rifle final (Trial 3) with a score of 252.6, leaving Olympian Elavenil Valarivan (252.1) behind. Nancy finished third after losing the shoot-off with Elavenil, while Mehuli Ghosh and Tilottama Sen finished fourth and fifth respectively.In the Men's 10m Air Rifle Final (Trial 3), Mr. Karthik Sabari Raj took the early lead in the 24-shot shootout and retained it after coming through two shoot-offs for a top podium finish against Divyansh Singh Panwar . Both end at 252.5.

Arjun Babuta (229.9) finished third, while world champions Rudraksh Patil and Sandeep Singh finished third and fourth respectively.

India No. 1 and world record holder Sift Kaur Samra shot an impressive 593 while Olympian Anjum Moudgil shot a modest 588 as both dominated the qualification round (Trial 4) in the 50m rifle 3-position event .

In the final played on Saturday, Nischal (587), Shriyanka Sadangi (580) and Aashi Choukse (577) were at third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.In the men's 50m rifle 3P, local favorite Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar took the top spot after scoring her third consecutive 590-plus score in the qualification round (Trial 4).

Swapnil Kusale (573), one of the first players to win a Paris quota in 2022, was fifth in the final on Saturday.
