Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Shimla Police on Friday claimed to have busted an interstate drug racket, recovered 169 grams of heroin and arrested four drug smugglers.

According to officials, a case has been registered against the accused under sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with the estimated value of the banned substance being between Rs 25-30 lakh.

Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that this drug has been seized from an interstate drug smuggling gang.

SP Gandhi said, "The arrested accused have been identified as Rahul, Anil, Deepak and Karan - all residents of Amritsar, Punjab. They were caught during patrolling based on a tip-off near Chaulanthi. We have taken them into custody." 169 grams of heroin recovered from it." Said.

He said that Shimla Police has arrested about 1 drug smugglers in the last six months.

SP Gandhi said, "Properties worth Rs 2 crore are being investigated to unearth the drug money link. In the last 15 months, we have registered 600 cases and arrested around 1,000 smugglers."

This year, to commemorate World Drug Day, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Shimla Police organized a bike rally in the city to raise awareness about drug abuse in the region.
